American Indian Vision Quest

Richard Baxley, the grandfather of Trenton and Tori Teague, is retired from the position of Davidson County Health Director. His artistic endeavors include cartoons, paintings, sculptures, and a variety of crafts.

Trenton and Tori Teague, Baxley’s grandchildren, live in Wilkes County where Trenton is a freshman in high school and Tori is a 5th grader. They are the children of Angela Baxley Teague and Andrew Teague. Trenton also plays the guitar and Tori creates jewelry. Tori has also participated in the N.C. Elementary Honors Chorus. Both children are active in their church and have been involved in “out-reach” projects to help others. They enjoyed having the opportunity to help “Habitat” by working on “Vision Quest”.

A TRUE “vision quest” allows a teenager to access spiritual communication and to form complex and abstract thoughts. The “Quest” helps them take responsibility for themselves and their individual contribution to a healthy society. A “Vision Quest” allows one to see something that one has never seen before.
