Members from the community came together for Habitat for Humanity of Lexington’s 49th Home Dedication on Sunday, April 24th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony included a welcome and invocation by Pastor Patrick Horton, a Habitat for Humanity homeowner. Remarks were also given by Marjorie Parker, Executive Director. Mickey Sharpe, President of the Board of Directors, introduced the family, Timothy and Nevaeh Dye of Lexington. The service opened with a prayer and then those in attendance were lead in the Litany of Thanksgiving. Marjorie Parker and Denny Owens, Construction Manager, presented Timothy and Nevaeh with a Bible and the keys to their new home. Pastor Horton closed in prayer. Those in attendance were invited to tour the home and share in the celebration with a cake that read “Welcome Home.”
Throughout the ceremony there were thanks given to the many volunteers who made the building of this home possible. Volunteers included students from Central Davidson High School, Davidson County Community College, Shepherd University, Southern Lunch Employees, and of course friends and members of the Dye family.
